Note: all details are from press reports and as accurate as I can currently make them. The purpose is to get a handle on the details so the various narratives around the riots can be objectively examined.

• [SOUTHPORT, 30th July] Gareth Metcalfe, violent disorder,

  3 years and 4 months

  -Pointed and shouted at police as the crowd chanted “who the f*ck is Allah?” at the mosque

  -Had a history of anti-Muslim remarks to police and others

  -From Southport

• Derek Drummond, violent disorder, 3 years

  -Punched a police officer

  -From Liverpool (45 minutes away)

• John Paul O'Malley, violent disorder,  2 years and 8 months

  -Shouted and gesticulated in the crowd

  -Pled guilty on the basis he was not doing anything violent or destructive

  -The judge however deemed he had been 'at the front and participating enthusiastically'

• Phillip Prescott, violent disorder, 2 years and 4 months

  -Threw bricks at police

  -From Southport

• David Hill, violent disorder, two years

  -Kicked the wing mirror off a police van

  -From Bootle (40 mins away)

• David Engleby, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Threw missiles at police

• Paul Dryhurst, violent disorder, 2 years

• Jordan Davies, possession of a knife, 2 years and 4 months

  -Near the Southport attack vigil, was carrying a knife and wearing a balaclava

  -Was serving a suspended sentence for 'racially aggravated' public order offences and had 15 prior convictions

  -Claimed he was neither “left nor right'“

• Tommy Callaghan, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Threw a brick and another missile at police

  -Raised his arm and fist and "chanted and gesticulated in rhythm" at police

  -'Surged forward' at the police line

  -Judge deemed he had no racial or religious prejudice

  -From Wigan (1 hour away)

• Rory Allington-Mott, violent disorder, 3 years and 3 months

  -Threw bricks, a wheelie bin, a plastic box, and a picture frame at police

  -Had a conviction for racially aggravated criminal damage

• Connah Ashley Piggott, violent disorder, 2 years and 4 months

• Kevin Underwood, violent disorder, 2 years

  -Has mental health problems

  -Was part of a group shouting 'racist and anti-Muslim' abuse

  -Filmed the unrest and did nothing violent except throwing a bin bag

• Martin Taylor, violent disorder and drugs possession, 2 years and 4 months

  -Was prominent within a group throwing missiles at police

  -Threw some himself

  -Hid his face

  -Had cannabis

• Charles Smith, affray, 23 weeks

  -Squared up to police and chanted "scum" at them

  -Took part in an 'Islamophobic chant’

  -From London

• Stevie Mulryne, violent disorder, 1 year and 4 months

  -Took part in the “who the f*ck is Allah?” chant

  -Did a 'stabbing gesture' at police

  -Participated in 'monkey like behaviour' towards officers

  -From Basildon (1 hour away)

• Ozzie Cush, violent disorder, 10 months

  -Walked into the path of a police officer and 'kicked out' at him

  -From Reading (1 hour away)

• Kelly Wildego, assaulting police officers, 4 months (sus)

  -Shouted swearwords at the police and 'rushed at them'

  -From London

• David Notley, violent disorder and causing 'religiously aggravated distress'

  1 year and 8 months

  -Chanted "'you're not English any more" and derogatory remarks about Islam

  -Got to the front of the crowd, squared up to police and shoved another protester into an officer

  -From Buckhurst Hill (45 mins away)

• Alfie Arrowsmith, violent disorder, 16 months

  -'Confronted' police and shouted "come on then" and "let's have it"

• Bradley Halton, violent disorder and ‘religiously aggravated harassment’

  16 months (and £400 fine)

  -Chanted ‘offensive language’ and shouted racist remarks at police

  -From London

• George Coldicott, was at Whitehall *and* Bristol, violent disorder,

  1 year and 10 months for Whitehall, 2 years and 10 months for Bristol (served concurrently -so 2 years and 10 months)

  -Threw a metal fence panel at police in Whitehall

  -Threw an object at police in Bristol

  -From Leominster (3.5 hours away from Whitehall, 1 hour 45 minutes away from Bristol)

• Jordan Rawlings, racially aggravated harassment, 6 months

  -Made gestures and shouted at police

  -Chanted "you're not English anymore" and "who the f*ck is Allah"

  -Made 'other insults', including calling the police 'scum'

  -Was dearrested after the incident, then arrested a week later when trying to get to London

  -No previous convictions

• [MANCHESTER, 31st July and 1st Aug] Joseph Ley, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon, 3 years and 2 months

  -Punched and kicked black man in the face

  -Had previously said "you got a problem with us English, bro?"

• Paul Smith, violent disorder, 2 years and 10 months

  -Threw bricks at police

• Oliver Chapman, violent disorder, 1 year and 8 months

  -Kicked a shop window

• Thomas Ward, violent disorder and indecent exposure, 2 years and 8 months

  -Threw a plank of wood at police officers

  -Waved his penis at the police line, which included female officers

• Graham Brookes, violent disorder, 1 year and 8 months

  -Threw a pint of cider at police and 'kicked out' at them

• Lynden Parker, violent disorder, 2 years and two months

  -Threw a vape at an asylum seeker hotel

  -This 'encouraged and spurred on others'

  -Was seen celebrating in a pub afterwards

  -His phone was seized and analysed (terrorism powers?)

  -Phone had racist messages including "horrible P*kis, we need to go to war with this c*nts and get them all out" and talk about "petrol b*mbing a mosque"

  -Judge said he was motivated by 'deeply unpleasant, ignorant and possibly extremist racist views'

  -No fixed abode

• Dane Freeman, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Smashed house-bricks into missiles and threw them at police

  -Wore a mask

  -From Manchester

• Michelle Jibson, violent disorder, 1 month

  -Was shoved by a police officer by the Holiday Inn and shoved him back

  -From Manchester

• Tracy Pearson, violent disorder, 1 month

  -"Expressed some trenchant, distasteful views, very loudly"

  -Judge admitted she hadn't been violent but her "intolerance" had "shamed" everyone involved

  -The girlfriend of Jibson

• Unnamed 13 year old, violent disorder, 1 month referral order and £150 fine

  -Was part of the group causing trouble at the Holiday Inn

  -A bus driver was injured, but not directly by the offender (fine paid to him)

  -Wore a balaclava

  -Denied a racial motive

• Nevey Smith, violent disorder, community order

  -Took her toddler in a pram to the unrest at the Holiday Inn

  -Didn't commit violence or encourage anybody

• Jack Cregan, 2 years and 6 months

  -Attacked a bus and its driver

  -Threw a brick into the driver's window and hit them on the shoulder

  -Wore a face covering and squared up to the police

  -Claimed he was committing crime in Derbyshire

  -Had been drinking

• Colin Brown, violent disorder and robbery, 2 years and 4 months

  -Breached the metal barriers of a police cordon

  -Shouted at other protesters (counter protesters?)

  -Was part of a group that assaulted a man

• [HARTLEPOOL, 31st July] Aaron Bradshaw, violent disorder, two years and 8 months

  -'Challenged and goaded' police officers

  -Attempted to hit a police officer with a wooden plank and had his arm broken by a police riot shield

  -'Challenged and goaded' police officers

  -Threw bricks and eggs at police

• Steven Mailen, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Tried to push through a police cordon and encouraged others to use violence against police

  -Bitten by police dog in the process

• Kieron Gatenby, violent disorder, 1 year and 4 months (YO)

  -Part of a group throwing missiles at police, smashing windows and shouting racial slurs (which he denied doing)

  -Threw a beer bottle at a police vehicle

• Carl Holliday, violent disorder, 2 years and 6 months

  -Drunkenly threw sheets of metal at police and verbally abused them

  -The judge concluded he had no racist or extremist views

• Donna Conniff, violent disorder, 2 years (out on licence after 1)

  -Threw a brick at the police

  -Gave a brick to a child and encouraged him to do the same

• Declan Dixon, violent disorder and drugs possession, 1 year and 6 months

  -Threw a missile at police

  -Had cocaine in his home

• Lennox Crockett, violent disorder, drug possession and failing to surrender to custody, 1 year and 6 months (YO)

  -Has learning difficulties

  -Threw multiple rocks at police

  -Encouraged others, children included, to push at police

  -Argued with police

  -Had previously been arrested at a suspected burglary, where he was found with various drugs

  -Failed to turn up to the magistrates when told to

• Tamsyn Cerr, violent disorder, 1 year

  -Threw a stone at police

  -Gave a man a stone to throw

  -Mother of a very young child and has a disability

  -From Hartlepool

• [ALDERSHOT 31st July] Perrie Fisher, violent disorder, 2 years and 5 months

  -Threw a bicycle and a scooter which had been taken from a shed of the migrant hotel (Potters International Hotel)

  -Case was framed on him being part of a riot that was deemed to have a racist motivation

  -Skipped his previous court date to go on holiday, breaking the terms of his bail

  -From Farnham (15 mins away)

• Cameron Bowling, violent disorder, 2 years

  -Banged on the asylum seeker hotel window

  -Swore at and threatened the people inside

  -Opened a gate and let other protesters into the hotel carpark

  -Judge deemed his actions were racist

  -Told police he would like to murder immigrants and smash up mosques

  -When police asked why he banged on the window he said "I'm letting them know they're not f*cking welcome"

  -From Farnborough (10 minutes away)

• Unnamed 13 year old, 1 year referral order and £111 fine

  -Punched and kicked a glass door at the asylum seeker hotel

• Steven Tiquin, Aldershot, assault on police, affray and racially aggravated disorder, 1 year and 8 months

  -At the migrant hotel, sprayed officers with a fire extinguisher, catching one in the mouth

  -Threw a bike at the police

  -Pulled a police inspector's tie and challenged them to a fight

  -When arrested, hit an officer and tried to bite them

  -Shouted "they [asylum seekers] shouldn't be here" and "they're going to rape our children"

• Joe Howell, violent disorder and assault on police, 1 year and 10 months (YO)

  -Threw bikes at the asylum seeker hotel and banged on doors

  -From Aldershot

• Alby Brannan, violent disorder, 1 year and 6 months

  -Threw fireworks at the hotel

• [SUNDERLAND 2nd Aug] Leanne Hodgson, violent disorder and racial abuse,

  2 years and 6 months

  -'Ran into' one police officer

• Riley Adey, violent disorder, 2 years (YO)

  -Drunkenly stood on an upturned burning car and handed out weapons

  -Threw missiles at police

• Reece Greenwood, violent disorder, 2 years, 6 months

  -Live-streamed himself encouraging disorder and verbally abusing police

  -Filmed a mob vandalising a police vehicle

  -Shouted racist and ‘Islamophobic’ slurs

• Josh Kellet, violent disorder, 2 years and 6 months

  -Threw a stone at the police while wearing a balaclava

  -Filmed himself cheering on attacks and posted it on Instagram

  -As he did this missiles were thrown at an office block and police, and 'slogans associated with the EDL' were yelled - he was deemed to be encouraging this

  -Had cocaine and heroin in his house

  -From Sunderland

•  Dean Groenewald, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Threw bricks

  -Was on licence for previous offences

  -From Sunderland

• Paul Williams, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Threatened and pushed police officers

  -Took his shirt off and said “put your shields down and let’s go, let’s f*cking go”

• Philip Crawthorne, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Army veteran that was high on drugs and alcohol

  -Threw two items at the police

  -Ran at the police line shouting and swearing

• David Hann, causing racially aggravated fear of violence, 8 months

  -Seen at several locations, gesticulating towards officers and shouting 'racial abuse'

  -Shouted "d*rty Muslims" at the mosque

  -Was an ex member of the defunct EDL and had suffered depression

  -Judge deemed him to have racist and Islamophobic views

  -From Sunderland

• Jack Fowler, violent disorder, 2 years

  -Drunkenly confronted police while holding an England flag

  -Said "this is going to be all summer, everywhere"

  -Had a mask on

  -From Newcastle (30 minutes away)

• Kieran Usher, riot (not violent disorder), 4 years and 4 months

  -Threw missiles at police and encouraged others to walk towards police lines

  -Wore a mask and a Union flag

  -Has learning difficulties

  -From Sunderland

• Liam Doeg, rioting and burglary, 3 years and 8 months

  -Part of groups that were throwing bricks at police, and sprayed police with a fire extinguisher

  -Pushed a wheelie bin at police and threw a parasol

  -Helped push a picnic bench towards police

  -Entered a looted vape shop and stole items

  -Was drunk and had been an alcoholic

  -From Sunderland

• Ian Kirtley, violent disorder, 1 year and 9 months

  -Part of a group that tried to 'attack' a mosque but were stopped by a police line

  -Intervened in an arrest by a mounted officer and set the suspect free

  -Filmed people throwing beer kegs at police and pointed out a bin that could be thrown

  -From Sunderland

• Brian Gilby, 3 years and 4 months

  -Part of a group attacking a police office with metal poles

  -'Wielded' a fire extinguisher

  -Passed out makeshift weapons to others

  -Entered the looted vape shop and stole many items

• Stephen Wilson, assault on police and drug possession, 4 months

  -Punched a police officer hard in the face, leaving significant injuries

  -Had cannabis in his cell once arrested

  -No fixed abode

• Victoria Gray, threatening behaviour, assaulting a police officer, possession of offensive weapon, 6 months (sus) and £431 in fines

  -Assaulted a police officer

  -Had pepper spray

  -Allegedly shouted racist and homophobic comments once arrested

  -Spat at a police officer once arrested

  -From West Hallam (30 mins away)

• Anthony Chadwick, threatening behaviour, £365 fine

  -Was hit in the head by a water bottle thrown at a protest he was not attending

  -Took off his shirt and confronted someone saying "I'm going to knock you out"

• [LEEDS 3rd Aug] Phil Hoban, racially aggravated harassment, 8 months

  -'Rubbed his lips towards a person of colour'

  -Mocked the Muslim style of prayer and chanted ‘who the f*ck is Allah?”

  -From Leeds

• Sameer Ali, assault, 1 year and 8 months

  -Kicked and punched four men who had supposedly given his group racial and religious abuse

  -From Leeds

• Adnan Ghafoor, Leeds, assault, 1 year and 8 months

  -With Sameer Ali, aimed punches at one of the men who was being restrained by others

  -Also has to serve an extra year for breaching a previous suspended sentence

  -From Leeds

• Jordan Plain, racially aggravated harassment, 8 months

  -Made monkey noises and other racist gestures towards a black woman

  -From Leeds

• James Gettings, religiously aggravated harassment, 8 months

  -Mocked the Muslim style of prayer

  -In a 'counter protest' he was involved in a fight with 'EDL supporters'

  -He claimed they'd been racist to his group

• Anthony Levitt, Leeds, drunk and disorderly, £197 fine

• [LIVERPOOL 3rd Aug] William Nelson Morgan, violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon, 2 years and 8 months

  -Had a truncheon

  -From Liverpool

• Declan Geiran, violent disorder, 2 years and 5 months

  -Set fire to (the seatbelt of) a police vehicle

  -From Liverpool

• Liam James Riley, violent disorder and racially aggravated abuse, 1 year and 6 months

  -Drunkenly called a police officer a “traitor and a Muslim-lover”

  -Made “negative comments about immigrants and Muslims” and said they were to blame for the Southport attack

• Ellis Wharton, burglary and assaulting police officer, 1 year and 8 months

  -Entered burned out library to try and steal a computer monitor

  -Fought with a police officer, sustaining a black eye

  -Drunkenly 'led' a mob to go about the town

  -'Instigated' the mob to be aggressive to police and to breach their lines

  -Verbally abused police and assaulted officers while being arrested

  -Tried to lift up the shutters to a shopping centre and helped assault a security guard

  -From Blackpool

• Daniel Stewart, violent disorder and assault, 2 years and 3 months

  -Swore and shouted at police and police horses

  -Threw a can at them

  -Assaulted a security guard in the shopping centre

  -His face was covered

• Andrew Hook, violent disorder and assault, 2 years and 3 months

  -Punched and kicked a security guard in the shopping centre

  -From Blackpool

• Shane Taaffe Rhodes, violent disorder, 2 years and 4 months

  -Involved in disorder on the promenade

  -Joined an attack on JD Sports in the shopping centre

  2 years and 8 months

  -Threw missiles at a mosque and police

  -Shouted at police and tried to push through their lines

  -Tried to stop a police van from getting through the crowd

  -Previously homeless and drug-addicted

  -From Newcastle-under-Lyme (10 minutes away)

• Deana Evans, violent disorder and assaulting a police officer,

  1 year and 8 months

  -Was verbally abusive to officers

  -With Lockett (her boyfriend) she tried to stop the police van

  -Elbowed an officer when being arrested

  -Also previously homeless and drug-addicted

  -From Newcastle-under-Lyme (10 minutes away)

• Tyler Marchese, violent disorder and assaulting police, 2 years and 1 month

  -Threw rocks at police

  -One hit an officer who was using a camera on the hand

  -From Stoke

• Daniel Bagguley, violent disorder, 2 years and 2 months

  -Was part of a group chanting slogans

  -Apparently goaded some Asians and they ran at him with weapons

  -He then fought the group and they broke his wrist

  -When receiving first aid in a Tesco he allegedly said "it will take more than one P*ki to get me, mate"

  -From Newcastle-under-Lyme (10 minutes away)

• Joseph Pointon, violent disorder, 2 years and 4 months

  -Tore off a piece of drainpipe from a house and threw it at police

  -Pulled up a metal pole on a roundabout but didn't throw it

  -Helped dismantle parts of the roundabout

  -Threw a brick at a police officer's shield

  -Tried to throw a scaffolding pole at police

  -Had been on the way to sort out a mortgage

  -From Biddulph (20 minutes away)

• Dillan Bahruzi, violent disorder, 2 years

  -Threw missiles at police and the public

  -From Stoke

• Jordan Jones, violent disorder and drug possession, 2 years and 2 months

  -Threw a brick and shouted abuse at police

  -Had cannabis

  -From Stoke

• Simon Beech, Stoke, violent disorder, yet to be sentenced

  -In 2011, had been jailed for 10 years for attempting to blow up a mosque in Hanley

  -Here he lit a fire, then ran a pipe towards the mosque from a nearby gas meter, trying to cause an explosion

  -Fire cost £50,000 of damage

  -Was a member of the EDL and BNP

  -Kicked a black man

  -Kicked out at 'counter-protesters'

  -Shouted aggressively at police

  -Was 'at the forefront' of the group that targeted an asylum seeker hotel

  -Drunkenly shouted and gestured at the police as the crowd became 'agitated and aggressive'

  -Threw missiles at police

• Mark Bowen, violent disorder, 1 years and 1 month

  -Verbally abused police and the public

• Bradley McCarthy, violent disorder, 10 months

  -'Shouted in a police dog's face'

  -Shouted at the police and threatened 'counter protesters'

  -Used racist and abusive language and 'threatening football' style chants

• Craig Timbrell, violent disorder, 2 years, 6 months

  Threw bricks, a glass bottle, and three concrete blocks at police

• John Matthews, violent disorder, 3 years

  -Threw glass bottles and metal cans at police

  -Punched at a police line and tried to break through  it

  -Was 'part of a group that used or threatened violence'

  -Had mental issues and was sprayed with CS gas by police, angering him

  -Had done previous offences

  -From Knowle (1 hour 30 minutes away)

• Ashley Harris, violent disorder, 3 years

  -Clashed with police and counter protesters

  -Threw punches, including one at a female counter protester

  -Threw a drinks can at police

  -Swore at and goaded police, and encouraged others to join in

  -From Bristol

• Mark Donavon, violent disorder, 2 years

  -Had a knuckle duster, which he claimed was for self defence

  -Shouted at a shopkeeper "are you ready for tomorrow?" (meaning a planned protest that didn't happen)

  -Took his shirt off and made comments deemed to be racist:-

  -"What is your nationality?"; "Where do you come from?"; “This is my town, my country"; "You need to go back to your country"

  -Then came back and pushed over shelving outside the shop
